First Days Of School

August 20, 2008

Well, Hell week is over and school started. nothing could make me happier. well maybe except for a three week vacation on the beach. I am so tired!!! last week i had two a days, and my boss down at BYU Concessions thought I could work in between the two practices. so while all my teammates are catching a few hours of sleep, I’m lifting heavy equipment. Sounds like fun doesn’t it?

School is going pretty good though, i like all my classes and teachers, and should do fairly well this year. I have two A.P. Classes and two concurrent enrollment classes. A.P. Music Theory seems like it’ll be a fun class, however it also seems to be fairly difficult too. A.P. Statistics is right down my alley and shouldn’t pose too much a threat. The one I’m REALLY worried about is college writing. It appears as though I’ll be writing a paper every night for the next nine months.

I’m off to bed now, I have Jazz Band at 6:30 tomorrow morning. I’ll try to be more active in posting. Farewell my friends, till a later time. goodbye.

hey!

April 21, 2008

well, i’ve given up posting poetry. not only is it tedious to readers but It’s hard to pop out a poem a day….

in other news: I just barely got back into school after a week off for spring break, and dang it’s hard. I got into a rythm of staying up till three and sleeping till ten. dang it’s hard getting back into the “wake up at 6″ phase. (by the way Ali and erica, Miner finally recognized me as your brother.) not much is happening in my life, besides school and work, but i’ll try to do something exciting soon.

I finally decided that i’m a rebel (or just fairly conservative). I am THE ONLY one who rollerblades anymore i think. but I still faithfully go out once a week cruising and trying to get a little better, or attempt some stupid new trick that never works out. i miss rollerblading with my family. who knows? maybe i’ll take a whole bunch of friends to classic skating and get everyone interested again. but i seriously doubt it. sorry for the total randomness, I’m finished now. ha ha.

Poems

April 11, 2008

Ali wants me to add my poems, i’ll add one or two a day. i’ll start off with something happy.

Phone call

by Nathan Bryant

I keep getting a call
from someone named “Toll Free”
they never say anything
not a sound.

Who could it be?
this person named “Toll Free?”
I wish they would talk,
just utter a whisper.

What is the problem?
are they scared?
hoping to speak but
never working up any courage?

Maybe one day I’ll see
This person “Toll Free”
and ask what was the matter.

comment if you feel like, criticism is very welcome.

Region Band

April 10, 2008

Well today was region band festival, and we got a 1 and two 1minuses, meaning we don’t move on to state.

Fine with me, i don’t really like concert band all that much, but i still think we should’ve gone to state. some other bands didn’t perform as well as us and they went to state, so i think it’s only fair. oh well, better luck next time, eh?

Heart

April 8, 2008

This is just a poem i wrote during math (yes mom i paid attention. we had some free time)

Heart

by Nathan Bryant

A heart is a fragile thing, I think
Without one you would surely sink
Into a pit of despair and doom
And pending death will certainly loom.
A man without a heart will be cruel and cold
Until he lives to be gray and old
And realizes a life without love is lost
He never thought that to him it would cost
His family, his friends, people he had held dear
And now he’s alone, with no one near
Just money and riches and plenty of fear.
And now the crowds will laugh and jeer
At the man who sold his heart.

Friends

April 7, 2008

I love my friends.

now I know some of you are thinking “Nathan has friends?” but i do, shocking as it may be.

they keep me going, keep me buoyed up, keep me moving ahead and thinking positive. without them i think i would be it the pit of despair, the pit of misery and endless wo. I owe my sanity to friends who care and to friends who listen. (my family are my friends too by the way)

Thanks.

It is Time.

March 31, 2008

Well, I know you all have blogs and I started to get jealous. Here we go.

Just a bit of an update on my life: Disneyland style.

This past weekend i was at Disneyland with my school band/orchestra. after an eleven hour bus trip to california we immediately proceeded to spend sixteen hours in the park making me a very, very tired person. consolation was that i spent it all with a lot of good friends which made the situation about a billion times better.

On Friday we lounged about after having a rehearsal from about eleven till two, and we went to an awesome dinner and a show called medieval times, where you eat a medieval style dinner (no utensils) and get to watch a show that includes Jousting, fighting with multiple weapons, and horse tricks. overall it was a very exciting night.

Saturday was the day of the competition (aactually i don’t think it was a competition, but we got to play on a stage for people inside California Adventure, which was exciting. we spent the rest of the day in the parks, and left for home at nine, and got home at nine A.M. this morning, which makes me a very tired person.
