Phone call

by Nathan Bryant

I keep getting a call
from someone named “Toll Free”
they never say anything
not a sound.

Who could it be?
this person named “Toll Free?”
I wish they would talk,
just utter a whisper.

What is the problem?
are they scared?
hoping to speak but
never working up any courage?

Maybe one day I’ll see
This person “Toll Free”
and ask what was the matter.

comment if you feel like, criticism is very welcome.

This is just a poem i wrote during math (yes mom i paid attention. we had some free time)

Heart

by Nathan Bryant

A heart is a fragile thing, I think
Without one you would surely sink
Into a pit of despair and doom
And pending death will certainly loom.
A man without a heart will be cruel and cold
Until he lives to be gray and old
And realizes a life without love is lost
He never thought that to him it would cost
His family, his friends, people he had held dear
And now he’s alone, with no one near
Just money and riches and plenty of fear.
And now the crowds will laugh and jeer
At the man who sold his heart.
